Anonymous asked: Hi. This past January, I broke the elbow on my dominant arm. I've recovered well, but I lost a lot of muscle. My strength has been coming back so slowly, even with the help of physical therapy. I used to be quite strong before the accident, without really having to do muscle focused exercises. Which is probably why it's even more frustrating. How do you push yourself to train hard and be diligent?

I think that that mostly boils down to motivation. I think that physical therapy can help you learn which particular muscles to work, and then stick to a schedule for at least 21 days… it takes that long to form a habit! Personally, feedback from seeing a positive (or negative) difference in my body also helps to motivate me.

Good luck gaining the muscle back!
